FROM ATHLETES TO CURATORS

OLIVIA BORLÉE & ELODIE OUEDRAOGO, CURATORS OF HASSELT’S MODE MUSEUM ACTIVEWEAR EXHIBITION.
The exhibition stretches from the nineteenth century, the period in which sports and leisure activities became increasingly important, to the present day. "Today, sportswear and fashion are inextricably linked. More and more fashion houses are working together with well-known athletes, while sports brands on the other hand are calling on well-known fashion designers" according to the message of the Fashion Museum Hasselt. The exhibition shows the socio-cultural changes that have made sport and fashion increasingly intertwined.
Elodie Ouédraogo and Olivia Borlée, two former top athletes and founders of fashion label UNRUN 42|54 , act as curators of the exhibition. Their love for Belgian fashion, their commitment to sustainability and, of course, their past as top athletes are extra assets for the collaboration.
